Marqués del Real Tesoro La Capitana Cream

Marques del Real Tesoro Winery’s Cream La Capitana is a smooth and silky drink, with a deep mahogany color, and an ABV of 17.5%. It strikes a wonderful balance between the PX’s mellow richness, and the Oloroso’s strong complexity. It’s aged for 10 years in American oak casks in the Marques del Real Tesoro Bodega’s traditional solera and criadera technique.

On the nose, you get notes of nougat, dried figs, raisins, and chocolate. On the palate, it is smooth, with a candied fruit finish.

Marques del Real Tesoro began when the first marquis’ grandson bought his first soleras from the Count of Villacreces, who had over 200-year-old soleras, in 1897. The company began to grow as a result of the excellent Jerez wines made in these traditional soleras, eventually becoming suppliers to the Royal Household. The José Estévez Group bought the winery in 1982, making it part of one of the country’s most prestigious winemaking groups.

The Marques del Real Tesoro Cream La Capitana is best enjoyed slightly chilled, and paired with desserts, pastries, and blue cheeses. It’s also delicious served “on the rocks,” with an orange slice.

Storage Instructions

Store unopened bottles horizontally in a cool, dark place, ideally between 12 to 15C. Once opened, store the bottle upright in the refrigerator. Opened bottles can be stored from 4 to 6 weeks
