Nakoa has been creating chocolates and sweet delicacies for over 100 years. Founded in 1858, Nakoa follows the same traditions and methods to create delicious sweets now as they did over a century ago. They believe that all good things take time.
Guirlache is a type of nougat - similar to turron - from the crown of Aragon. It is made in a similar fashion to turron and utilizes Marcona almonds - sweet, plump, and flavorful almonds common in the Aragon region. It is sweet, nutty, and slightly crunchy, thanks to the caramel glass encasing the almonds. Nakoa has made this their own by procuring the very best and freshest Marcon almonds and utilizing traditional methods that painstakingly create the guirlache that is so famous in the region.
This delicious confection is enjoyed anytime of the day and can be served alongside black coffee or strong tea. It can also be paired with sherry or port, though this may be a little too sweet for some.
