The Saint-Julien Crok Noix (Saint-Julien with Walnuts) is a soft, melty cheese that is made by mixing a cheese preparation with cow’s milk. The result is a cheese that melts excellently and delivers a creamy bite with a slight acidic note.
Other tasting notes include a rather perceptible nuttines thanks to the addition of walnuts and hazelnuts. A slight grassiness and earthiness can also be detected thanks to the cow’s milk used in the production process.
This delicious cheese is actually quite versatile. It is great when spread on bread, but due to its melty, stringy nature, try using this cheese in your next mac and cheese in lieu of mozzarella. It is also perfect on cheese plates, as part of salads, or when mixed as part of a fondue. Whatever you choose to use this delicious cheese for, you will not be sorry that you used it.
Cheeses (except brined ones in jars) should be stored in the crisper or the butter drawer of a refrigerator, not on the shelves themselves. This is to help regulate their temperature and humidity levels—and prevents the formation of mold. Once opened, they should not be kept in their original packaging. Soft cheeses with delicate rinds need to breathe, so they are best placed in glass containers lined with paper towels to absorb extra moisture. Leave the lid open a tiny bit for air to circulate and don’t forget to write up a label with the date you first opened the package. Kindly pay attention to the best before date label when you receive your cheese. Consume prior to date indicated.
