Avelino Vegas winery was founded in the 1950’s by Avelino Vegas in the Sergovian region of Spain. The winery prefers to use grapes from that area, especially the Verdejo variety. Since then, the winemaker has consistently produced quality wines for connoisseurs around the world.
This exciting, well-balanced wine combines grapes of the tempranillo, cabernet sauvignon, and merlot variety to create a bold flavored, slightly tannin, dry red that is smooth on the palate but with slight acidic afternotes. One can expect a beautiful crimson color with a delicate nose. Hints and suggestions of dark fruits and slight citrus can be observed. For the discerning palate, eucalyptus and tea-tree come through as afterthoughts.
This wine is best paired with beef and veal. It also works very well with pastas and poultry, too! Consider a meat sauce pasta, like a bolognese; or a chicken dish like Spanish chicken in Bravas sauce. A dish with heavy flavors will complement the boldness of this wine, without losing any characteristics of either the meal, or the wine.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
